What is lucha libre experience like?

As the curtain rises on a typical Friday evening at the Mexico Cathedral, the arena is packed to the brim. The ring announcer steps into the ring to declare the event underway and asks the audience to declare their favorite side: “rudos” (the “bad guys”) or “técnicos” (the “good guys”).

The “rudos” add the spicy flavor to the wrestling, with famous names like Último Guerrero, Rush, Shocker, Rey Bucanero, and Cavernario, to name a few.

On the technical side, Atlantis remains a favorite, along with Místico, Carístico, Volador Jr, and Octagón, among others.

Inside the ring, the gladiators use holds, aerial moves, and strikes with the open palm (closed fist punches are not allowed). The referees also play a crucial role, making the show possible. Keep an eye out for the famous “Tirantes,” ask about him – he’s a character.

Grab a wrestling mask outside the Arena, there are masks for many wrestlers. Put it on, shout, and enjoy yourself until you’re tired.

Numbered seats provide the best view of the matches. We recommend the “ring naranja” (orange ring) section. There’s also a VIP experience, the most expensive option, but truly, the excitement is palpable from any angle.
